“My time at Good Vibrations has without a doubt made the difference in my still being sober today. It was the foundation upon which I built my recovery.”
-Joan
Meet Joan,
As a former resident of Good Vibrations I can confidently say that I couldn’t have chosen a better place to lay the foundation of my sobriety.
I was very apprehensive about choosing to stay in a sober house. I had my own apartment and was worried I would lose it. The staff helped me find a grant and gave me a matching grant to help with the move in rent.
From day one Lori , the resident/owner and president of GV, was supportive , caring and knowledgeable. I felt like she was totally invested in my sobriety. She offered advice, laid out responsibilities , helped me set goals as well as help me to identify triggers and bad habits. The house was always in order . Lori saw to that. We had weekly house meetings where anything and everything was addressed.
Jake, her son and VP of GV would stop by often. He would counsel us one to one about our goals progress and where we wanted to be. He would discuss with us what our future plans were and how we were going to meet those goals. He would help us with finding grants or help us write resumes or letters to employers.
The two, together would plan and join us in activities such as day trips and back yard karaoke or bbq parties.
Other recovering alcoholics/addicts would visit for backyard fire pit nights and play live music which made us hopeful for recovery.
All in all, my time at Good Vibrations has without a doubt made the difference in my still being sober today. It was the foundation upon which I built my recovery.
“Good Vibrations was the ideal place for me to transition to the next chapter of my life and I could not have done it without their help.”
-Maureen
Meet Maureen,
The folks at Good Vibrations were essential in helping me through a very vulnerable time in my life. I had finally taken the life-changing step of getting sober. After rehab, it was crucial to my recovery that I enter a safe, supportive, and structured environment. Good Vibrations was all that and more.
At Good Vibrations, I was welcomed and made to feel at home. While there I learned the importance of discipline, accountability, openness, honesty, communication, and community. Lori and Jake care deeply about the residents and helping them achieve their goals. Good Vibrations was the ideal place for me to transition to the next chapter of my life and I could not have done it without their help.
“From the moment I moved in, I was welcomed with open arms as well as hearts. It is exactly what I needed coming out of treatment.”
-Shannon
Meet Shannon,
My name is Shannon and I am currently a resident of Good Vibrations. I moved in
last November after Treatment. I moved out in April and decided to move back in July because the living situation I was in was not conducive to my Recovery. Because I was extremely
comfortable with Good Vibrations I knew it was in my best interest to move back, I am forever grateful that Lori welcomed me back without hesitation.
From the moment I moved in, I was welcomed with open arms as well as hearts. It is exactly what I needed coming out of treatment, Lori and Jake are the absolute best. They genuinely care about each and every woman that comes to the house. Recovery is the top priority and that is why I have thrived so much in my Recovery thus far.
I currently have almost 13 months sober and I owe a huge part of that to Good Vibrations, Lori and Jake. Today, I am a valued employee, loving mom, in service to AA and a friend. I am always sure to remember where I was just a year ago and it was awful. Because of everything I learned from Lori and Good Vibrations, I do not have to live like that anymore.
I am truly a happy, grateful, and blessed recovering Alcoholic that got an amazing chance at a new life. I highly recommend good Vibrations to anyone that needs it and is willing to be an active participant in their Recovery.
